Tesco to increase staff pay but scrap 10% Sunday bonus

Tesco has announced plans to raise wages for staff by 5.2% ahead of changes to the UK's National Living Wage in April.

The minimum hourly rate for staff will jump from £12.02 per hour to £12.45 per hour, effective from 30 March—but the supermarket giant will end its ‘Sunday bonus’ for employees across the board.

The changes have been approved by unions representing Tesco employees.

Tesco joins supermarket rivals in staff pay rise

The UK’s largest supermarket chain will further increase pay by 19p from the end of August, totalling £12.64 per hour.
