A third of Brits would prefer weekly pay amid end-of-month money struggles

A third (33%) of UK workers would prefer to be paid weekly, as seven in ten (71%) people run out of money before the end of the month, according to new research by Indeed Flex, the online marketplace for flexible and temporary work, has revealed.

A survey by Indeed Flex reveals that despite strong demand for a weekly pay packet, only 18% of UK employees are paid every seven days, while 5% receive their pay fortnightly. The majority, 71%, are paid in a single monthly instalment. 

Payday is an uncomfortable wait for many Brits, with more than four-fifths (44%) admitting they run out of money by the 21st of the month, while one in five (21%) deplete their wages as early as the 14th.

With the living costs on the rise, half of those who would prefer a weekly pay check believe it would help to improve their budgeting, while 45% say it would give them greater control over their finances.
