The risk of tribunal claims and the impact on employee relations are HR’s biggest worries when undertaking a redundancy process, new research finds.
The latest data from HR and employment law specialists WorkNest reveals that over half (54%) of organisations say their main concern when making a redundancy is ‘legal risk and potential tribunal claims’.
This was significantly higher than worries about the reputational risk to the business (4%), the financial implications of redundancy payments (5%) or the loss of skills within the company (9%).
Fears around the impact on workplace culture follow for HR professionals. More than a quarter (27%) say that the repercussions of job losses on the remaining employees’ morale and productivity is their main worry.
