Manchester United is set to make hundreds of redundancies, end free food for staff and alter its bonus scheme as part of a major cost cutting spree.
The Premier League club has revealed a plan to transform its corporate structure as part of a series of measures to “improve the club’s financial sustainability and enhance operational efficiency”.
Those measures include the loss of anywhere between 150 and 200 jobs, according to reports, which follows a headcount reduction of 250 which was made last year.
The transformation plan aims to return the club to profitability after five consecutive years of losses since 2019, the club said. It is designed to “create a more solid financial platform from which the club can invest in men’s and women’s football success and improved infrastructure.”
