The CEO of Citigroup has assured top executives that the bank will continue with its hybrid work schedule.
According to a report from the Financial Times, Chief Executive Jane Fraser made the commitment during a quarterly call with the bank’s managing directors in mid-January.
Citi currently permits most of its employees to work remotely for up to two days a week. The FT reported that Fraser believes Citi’s more flexible in-office policy provides a competitive advantage over rivals in the City and on Wall Street, where many are enforcing stricter return-to-office (RTO) rules.
Although the firm is maintaining its hybrid policy, bosses have stepped up monitoring of attendance, tracking security pass swipes to ensure workers are at their desks at least three days a week. It employs 229,000 people globally, including 14,000 across the UK.
