Buckingham Palace staff Christmas party ends with drunk employee's arrest

It was supposed to be a right Royal knees up. But a Christmas party for Buckingham Palace staff ended with police attending and an employee being arrested.

The incident occurred at a bar in Victoria Street, central London on Tuesday, December 11th, following a drinks reception at the palace earlier in the evening.

Around 50 staff members were said to have been at the festive bash - which was organised by the workers themselves and wasn’t an official Buckingham Palace event.

What should’ve been a lively but civilised celebration ended on a sour note, for police had to be called to the bar following reports that one of the Palace staff had smashed glasses and attempted to assault a member of staff.
