The London Stock Exchange Group has sacked an employee after a “concerning” video involving the staff member emerged online.
Their employment was terminated after the company was made aware of the recorded incident, which took place in the US. The company said it had “zero tolerance” for racism and that LSEG employees were expected to meet a high standard of conduct.
The company didn’t go into detail about the video, but multiple reports explain it involved a group of people harassing a black teenager walking through his own neighbourhood in Florida.
Internet sleuths identified one of the people in the clip, as well as his place of employment, LSEG. The firm launched an investigation into the incident, which concluded with the man being dismissed.
