A woman who sued her former employer over not being given a leaving card has lost an employment tribunal appeal.
Karen Conaghan claimed that the oversight from IAG, the parent company which runs British Airways, was a “failure to acknowledge her existence” and breached equality law.
Conaghan, who had worked for IAG since 2019, brought allegations relating to her treatment by colleagues and her redundancy following a company restructuring, including claims related to the leaving card, or lack thereof.
However, the judge heard that a leaving card had been planned, but colleagues hid it from her when only three colleagues signed it.
