Ready meal maker Oscar Mayer & staffing partner face growing fire and rehire scandal

Food manufacturing company Oscar Mayer is facing a growing scandal after a partner agency was accused of advertised roles for temporary staff to replace workers striking over reported fire and rehire plans.

Job&talent, the agency in question, has been reported to the Employment Agency Standards inspectorate.

Over 500 employees at Oscar Mayer – a leading UK ready meal and food manufacturer supplying UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Greggs – went on strike earlier in September.

Workers at the manufacturer’s Wrexham-based factory downed tools over reported fire and rehire practices.
