Calling women 'birds' & boasting about sex at work was harassment, tribunal rules

Male staff calling women 'birds' and boasting of sexual conquests amounted to sexual harassment, an employment judge has ruled.

The ruling was made at a tribunal involving Whisky 1901, a whisky investment company based in London, and former employee Nina Chung.

The tribunal ruled in favour of Ms Chung, after hearing allegations of sexist language - such as the ‘birds’ comments, harassment and victimisation.

The decision resulted in a total compensation award of more than £51,000.
