Forget AI - UK employers want Microsoft Office skills instead

What skills does your business most desperately need?

Well, if the LinkedIn posts by tech bros hot off the Silicon Valley press are anything to go by, it's artificial intelligence. Never far from the headlines in the world of HR, we’re already seeing some companies like buy-now-pay-later platform Klarna replace some components of manual human work through AI automation.

But new research released by Indeed indicates that while some employers may find themselves riding high on the AI adoption wave, comfortable to be on the bleeding edge, for most UK employers it’s a very different story.

According to their analysis of UK job postings, UK businesses are currently far more likely to be looking for skills in basic IT and our old friends Excel and PowerPoint.
