Amazon has announced a pay rise that will benefit tens of thousands of UK staff, but union figures say the raise is ‘too little, too late’.
The company announced this week that wages would increase by 9.8% or higher for frontline operations employees across the UK.
The minimum starting pay for frontline operations employees will rise to between £13.50 and £14.50 p/h, depending on location. For those with 36 months service, the increase will be to between £13.75 and £14.75p/h.
The changes will come into effect from September 29th and equates to an annual starting salary of between £28,080 and £30,160, depending on location, for full-time frontline employees across the country.
