TikTok, owned by ByteDance Ltd., has been hit by a lawsuit from a UK-based employee who claims she faced disability discrimination and a toxic work environment.
Olivia Anton Altamirano, a content moderator who still works at the video-sharing platform, said she suffered from stress and pregnancy complications as a result of her treatment, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The case is still in its infancy. After a hearing on Wednesday, London-based judge Mark Emery ruled that the case should proceed, despite TikTok rejecting all claims.
“This is not to say this claim has good prospects of success but I cannot say this has no reasonable prospects of success,” Emery clarified.
