An employee data leak through a third-party app has impacted roughly 900 firms, including Dell, Capital One, AT&T and Verizon.
The third-party company, Simpli, used by some major tech companies, reportedly had a publicly available web directory, resulting in 10,000 employee credentials being leaked.
The Simpli app enables employees of companies that rent office spaces to look at spaces in the same building to book. It also lists staff amenities, perks, discounts, and allows users to order products.
Because of these leaks, which exposed potentially sensitive information, organisations which use the app could be vulnerable to data theft.
