Tenancy rights | Landlords ban working from home, and it's down right discriminatory

Landlords ban working from home, and it's down right discriminatory

Tenants are experiencing an increase in landlords saying they don’t want them to work from home whilst renting their property.

In a report from The Independent, which found little legislation to protect tenants from the practice, which is becoming more common, it was found that landlords are increasingly banning their tenants working from home due to not wanting to drive up household bills and insurance reasons.

The issue came under scrutiny after a post went viral on X, where a hopeful tenant brought light to a room being advertised for £1300 a month. Despite having a desk, the landlord of the property was banning working from home.
