Labour unveils 'back to work' plan to 'tackle root causes of worklessness'

The new Work and Pensions Secretary has revealed the Government’s plan to get millions of people back into work.

On a visit to Leeds with the Ministerial team, Liz Kendall identified tackling economic inactivity as one of Labour’s top priorities, saying Mayors and local areas will be in the driving seat of change.

Kendall confirmed the three pillars of the Government’s Back to Work Plan:

  • A new national jobs and career service to help get more people into work, and on in their work.
