Campaigners for the four-day work week have announced a second trial period of the working model will begin later this year, with an increased emphasis on other flexible arrangements such as start & finish times, compressed hours and a nine-day fortnight.
Following a previous trial that began in 2022, the 4 Day Week Campaign and flexible working consultancy Timewise have partnered to launch a second four-day week pilot in the UK this Autumn, with research support from University of Cambridge, Boston College and the Autonomy Institute.
The six-month pilot is scheduled to begin on November 4 with trainings and workshops starting in mid-September.
Last time, 30,000 employees and over sixty companies trialled a four-day working week, with many declaring it a success. Two years on, 54 of those companies have decided to stick with the four-day working week following glowing feedback.
