Mass redundancies | Dyson to cut 1,000 UK jobs as part of global restructure

Vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dyson will cut about 1,000 UK jobs as part of a global restructure.

Staff at the company were notified of the impending mass redundancies on Tuesday, July 10th. 

The job cuts will affect almost a third of its 3,500-strong UK workforce, which is dispersed across sites in London, Bristol and its R&D headquarters in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, where it was founded by its namesake Sir James Dyson in 1991. 

The company, renowned for its bagless vacuum cleaners and, more recently, products such as hair dryers, hand dryers and bladeless fans, has a global headcount of around 15,000.
