Goldman Sachs asks London graduates to start roles early amid talent shortage

In a development that underscores the growing talent crisis, Goldman Sachs has requested its incoming London graduates to start their roles earlier than originally planned, according to reports.

Traditionally, Goldman Sachs welcomes its new graduate recruits in July, aligning with the conclusion of the academic calendar. 

However, this year, the bank has urged its graduates to commence their roles as soon as possible - reports eFinancialCareers - indicating an urgent need to bolster its workforce amidst an increasingly competitive talent market. 

This strategic move highlights the critical shortage of skilled professionals not only within the financial sector but across various industries in the UK, with labour shortages coming due to factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Brexit, and shifting work preferences among the younger workforce.
