It’s human nature to ignore criticism and seek out praise. However, when you’re a business, you can’t afford to bury your head in the sand.
As you know, Glassdoor is an online job search and career community that enables ex-employees to speak candidly about their experience at a company. It’s common practice for candidates to check a firm’s reviews on Glassdoor, to gauge what it’s really like working somewhere, beyond what interviewers say.
It’s not something many HR practitioners would be keen to do, but regularly checking your score on Glassdoor can educate you about what your workforce is like, deeper than what you can see on the surface, and can inform many of your important decisions.
You may think you know what your business is like. But ultimately, your various feedback initiatives and surveys aren’t guaranteed to be an honest review of life at your firm. This is backed by recent research from Gallup, which suggested that 90% of the UK workforce is disengaged and quiet quitting yet are remaining in their roles because of a need for security.
