Vigilantism | Boss jailed after using shotgun & pistol to threaten employee he accused of theft

A former company boss has been jailed after he assaulted a member of staff with a pistol and shotgun.

Jamie Oakes accused an employee of theft after several dirt bikes and quad bikes had been stolen from his property in May 2023.

Oakes – who is registered with Companies House as a director at Dartford-based plumbing firm Blocked Drain Specialists Ltd, took it upon himself to carry out an assault, rather than alerting police to his concerns. He was accompanied by another woman who also joined in the attack.

They took the man to the back of Oakes’ property in Green Street Green Road, Dartford, where they were reported to have punched and kicked him.
