In a strange turn of events, the Oxford English Dictionary recently announced that the word it considers to be the most influential over the past 12 months is ‘rizz’.
For those not in tune with the latest slew of TikTok-centric Gen-Z slang, the word, which is derived from "charisma," was first officially recorded in 2022, and is now seemingly closely associated with a famous quote from actor Tom Holland.
Whilst rizz is a word that perhaps is indeed best associated with HR within the workplace – it’s undeniable that the function is often the one leading the way with culture and merriment within the workplace – it’s not this word that we’re here to discuss today.
Instead, we’re posing the question – if rizz is the Oxford Dictionary word of the year, what is HR’s? What’s the word that has, as Oxford Dictionary states, been the most influential over the past year?
