Could Johnson, Rees-Mogg & more lose their seats over attacks on workers rights?

Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Jeremy Hunt are among a string of MPs who could lose their seats as a result of growing outrage at their opposition to workers' rights campaigns, according to a new study...

The TUC (Trade Union Congress) issued a stark warning to the Conservative government that it will face a “significant” voter backlash if it follows through on plans to rip up key workplace protections which originated from EU law.

The warning comes as the union body published data from its new MRP (multilevel regression and post-stratification) poll – conducted by Opinium – which reveals whopping nationwide and cross-party support for protecting EU-derived workers’ rights.

The polling also shows the Conservatives are set to have their huge 2019 majority 'wiped out' - as the TUC described – as voters reject Liz Truss’ economic agenda and attacks on workers’ rights. High profile politicians including Jacob Rees-Mogg, the newly-appointed Chancellor Jeremy Hunt and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson are on track to lose their seats in the House of Commons, the study finds.
