Boss demands worker attends meetings and takes calls while on holiday

A worker has claimed their boss demanded they keep attending working meetings and keep their phone turned on while taking annual leave.

In a viral Reddit post, reported by Indy100, the anonymous employee explained how their manager expected them to still fulfil work duties despite having booked time off work to visit family.

In the post, the worker said they had recently moved to another team within the company where they had worked for the last two-and-a-half years, and had booked a week off to visit their sister and niece before they were promoted to the new department.

“The new team was informed as well but I could tell my new supervisor was annoyed by it. He even asked if I could reschedule but I said I could not,” the employee wrote.
