A UK boss has hailed the four-day work week as a better, healthier way to work after giving all his staff an extra paid day off each week.
Salon owner, Joel McCauley, said he has seen a huge uptick in productivity and wellbeing among his staff after letting all his hairdressers work four-day weeks after the "incredibly stressful" pandemic hit his shop in Cardiff, Wales Online reported.
Joel told the news outlet that the national lockdowns, which shuttered all non-essential businesses for months at a time, highlight how his staff had gotten used to working "like dogs" non-stop, usually for six days a week.
To combat this, Joel introduced a four-day week for full-time staff without any deduction in pay, and said the move has had a knock-on effect for productivity.
