HR experts reveal how THEY would conduct a Downing Street party investigation

The much-anticipated Sue Gray report into alleged Downing Street parties during lockdown was published yesterday, and although the ongoing investigation means few details have actually been revealed, the findings have presented some key legal and work culture takeaway for HR.

Sue Gray declared in her heavily summarised report that there had been "failures of leadership and judgement" which were “difficult to justify”, as well as excessive drinking described as “not appropriate in a professional workplace at any time".

Gray also revealed that as many as 16 events were under investigation, 12 of which are now being investigated by the police.

According to the BBC, Sue Gray interviewed 70 people during her probe, and also examined emails, WhatsApp messages, text messages and building entry logs.
