Employee claims she was forced to work in baby clothes department after miscarriage

A shop worker was allegedly made to work in the baby section of their store despite having recently suffered a miscarriage, according to Indy100.

The media outlet was reporting on a viral tweet from a shop customer, whose heart-breaking interaction with a member of staff has sparked a debate around workplace miscarriage policies.

The tweet, which has had almost 300,000 likes and more than 16,000 retweets, said: “Asked the girl ringing up my clothes about her day and she said she was struggling because she'd just had a miscarriage and they made her work in the baby section”.

The business, and location of the incident, were not disclosed.
