Whilst employee annual leave should be a chance to escape the stresses of work and take some time to recuperate, new data has suggested that some staff aren't getting the uninterrupted break they had hoped for.
In fact, new data from TextAnywhere, as reported by WalesOnline, has found that almost three-quarters of all workers have been contacted by their boss or colleagues whilst on holiday.
The study, which collated insights from over 1,000 workers, discovered that one in five of those who received some form of communication whilst on annual leave were telephoned about work, whilst most others received emails.
Commenting on the study, James Bosley, Marketing Manager at TextAnywhere, said: “Stress is now the number one cause of sickness absence in the UK, with the past year proving to be exceptionally difficult for employees as they have tackled the changes the pandemic has brought.”
