Rumours continue that TikTok wants to break into recruitment

TikTok, the popular video social networking site which boasts up to 689million users according to Hootsuite data, is continuing to test out software that would facilitate a move into the recruitment market, according to an anonymous report from an employee, reported by Axios.

Initial reports that the platform was looking to create a tool for brands to recruit employees were revealed by an anonymous employee in an Axios report published last month, which also confirmed that a ‘beta group’ of companies were currently aiding in the testing of this new software.

Whilst the rumoured new product will apparently not be a part of the current TikTok platform itself, it will be accessible via a separate page directed through the app, where brands can post jobs with an emphasis on appealing to Gen-Z.

Users will be able to post what Axios calls a ‘TikTik resume’ to the site, utilising short video submissions instead of the traditional CV-led submissions system. According to TikTok, the average video posted to the site runs between 10 seconds to one minute in length.
