Value of workplace diversity scheme questioned as Gov minister 'urges QUIT'

Conservative MP and Cabinet Equalities Minister Liz Truss this week urged all Government departments to withdraw from LGBT rights charity Stonewall’s Diversity Champion Scheme following ongoing controversy over the ‘value’ that the charity offers its members, The Times reports.

Some organisations and bodies such as the EHRC and Acas had already withdrawn from the agreements citing ‘cost reasons’, however under Truss’ guidance, the likes of the House of Commons and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency have also withdrawn from the scheme recently.
