Boss gives employees THIS on pub reopening day

Today marks the reopening of non-essential retail and pub gardens as part of Britain’s slow march out of lockdown, meaning many businesses will likely be dealing with unprecedented customer demand. However, one boss has taken the opportunity to allow staff to wind down instead.

Chris Donnelly, who is the Chief Executive of London-based digital marketing agency Verb Brands, announced to his staff that today (April 12) would be a holiday for all workers – allowing them a chance to go to a pub garden, or go shopping instead.

Not only did he tell staff that they would receive the day off, but according to a Metro report, Donnelly actively noted that anyone who attempted to come into the office would be ordered to head to a pub garden or go home.

“It has been a horrid time for so many people across so many sectors,” the boss told the Daily Mail. “The pubs and shops are opening up after months and I just want employees to know how much they are appreciated and to enjoy this day for themselves, not spend it sat in the office,” he said.
