Boss giving staff every payday off sparks HR questions

Whilst payday is largely considered to be one of the best days of the month for many, one boss has resolved to make them even better, by offering his staff the opportunity to take the day off, every month.

Alan Turner, Operations Director at Leeds-based tech firm Knoxx, announced in a recent LinkedIn post that as a gesture of thanks, the firm would be awarding all employees 12 additional holiday days, giving them every payday off throughout the year.

"So, after a chat with some of our team we decided to do something awesome with our employee contracts with immediate effect. Feedback has been hugely positive and I'm excited to share it. From now, Knoxx are going to give all of our staff... payday off - EVERY MONTH,” he said in the LinkedIn post, as reported by LadBible.

"We pay our staff on the last Friday of every month so this now means that our staff are getting an EXTRA 12 days holiday per annum to enjoy a long weekend. Fully paid. On us. Yep. Every. Month,” he added.
