How can HR manage remote staff as temperatures rise?

Over the bank holiday weekend, temperatures soared in some parts of the UK which saw many Brits basking in the sunshine. And it is possible that these sizzling temperatures could continue into this week too.

According to MyLondon, the Met Office said that London could see highs of 27 degrees today. This gives rise to questions around how HR can manage staff during the heat and what responsibility employers have to workers.

When the weather hots up, some staff members may feel tempted to down tools early this afternoon and enjoy a glass of Pimm’s in the back garden.

Before this happens, it is crucial that employers have a plan in place, such as allowing staff to start and finish earlier so that they can work during the cooler parts of the day.
