Nationwide tells 13,000 office staff to 'work anywhere'

The UK’s largest building society has told some staff that they can ‘work anywhere’ as part of a new flexibility scheme.

13,000 office staff at Nationwide will be able to make use of the new scheme, which will allow them to choose wherever they work, giving them more control over their lives, the firm shared in a company release.

The decision comes after Nationwide employees were surveyed on how they would like to work in the future. Only six per cent of respondents stated that they wanted to work in an office five days a week, while more than half said that they wanted to work from home full-time. 36% of employees shared that they would like a blend of home and office work.

This new approach is focussed on how people can do their best work rather than where they are based, Nationwide shared.
