EXCLUSIVE | Travis Perkins' HR head on how it became a top employer

Travis Perkins have been certified as a 2021 Top Employer, following a rigorous review of the firm’s HR practices by The Top Employers Institute.

The supplier of building materials and owner of the Travis Perkins builders’ merchants, Toolstation, Wickes and many specialist trade businesses, was reviewed for a variety of different themes, including the work environment for colleagues to recruitment, rewards, training and development, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.

And it seems the organisation came out on top for all of these different factors, something Travis Perkins has been recognised for now for the 12th year running.

To get there, Emma Rose, HR Group Director for Travis Perkins, told HR Grapevine that the business made progress on a number of different initiatives throughout 2020, while also using the uncertain period of time wisely to develop the organisation.
