In a televised address last night (January 4, 2021) UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a national lockdown, where people in England were instructed to ‘stay at home to control the virus’.
These new restrictions come following a rapid rise in infections, hospital admissions and case rates across the country, according to the Government’s website.
From today, people will only be able to leave their homes for certain reasons, much like the first lockdown period in March last year, which will likely impact HR and the department’s role in supporting staff and the business.
