HRD reveals 3 tips for supporting staff at Christmas

With the festive season now upon us, employers and HR will likely be thinking about how they can support staff members during this time.

Given that Christmas will be looking different this year in light of the coronavirus crisis – and some people will be separated from family and friends over the festive period – it is possible that morale will take a hit and some people will be struggling.

As such, Natalie Rogers, HR Director at employee benefits provider Unum UK, explained to HR Grapevine that in the run-up to Christmas – and with employees in various COVID-19 tier restrictions – it is important that employers and HR are “tuned in” to how their staff are coping.

She explained: “Symptoms of stress can appear physically, behaviourally, or cognitively via a noticeable dip in performance, but it can be hard to identify the signs, particularly from a distance.
