Back in the office, it was not uncommon for teams of colleagues to engage in one of the biggest festive traditions – Secret Santa.

While the annual Xmas gift exchange can be a great way of engaging staff and boosting morale, new research has shed light on some of the worst Secret Santa gifts that office workers have ever received.

The Body Shop’s poll of more than 300 office workers revealed that being given a novelty gift was cited as the worst present to receive from colleagues, with 68% saying that they would prefer a more thoughtful gift.

Other detested Secret Santa presents included adult-themed gifts, beauty items, toys and games, food and home accessories among other things.
