Ever since the coronavirus pandemic hit earlier this year, combatting employee burnout has been a top priority for HR leaders and employers alike.

With statistics from LinkedIn’s Glint revealing that burnout doubled from March (2.7%) to April (5.4%) – and with more recent research indicating that furlough and layoffs are ‘bruising’ wellbeing – addressing burnout before it threatens workplace productivity and engagement is key.

What is burnout?

The World Health Organisation (WHO) put burnout on its International Classification of Diseases (ICD) list last year, which is used as a global benchmark for health diagnosis – according to DW.com.
