60% of workers dreading winter COVID-19 restrictions

This weekend UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans for England to head into lockdown once again, as coronavirus cases continue to rise. With many experts warning that further restrictions like this could impact mental health, new data has shared that Brits are now more concerned than ever.

In fact, research carried out by Healthspan – as was reported by SWNS Digital – has discovered that six in ten Brits are now ‘dreading’ winter due to COVID-19 restrictions, with many concerned that it will be harder on their mental and physical health than ever before.

It also highlighted the lack of sunlight Brits get in the winter, as eight in ten stated that during the last winter they didn’t step outside at all during the daytime.

Dr Meg Arroll, a psychologist specialising in health on behalf of Healthspan, commented on the findings saying that every year due to the lack of sunlight people are more likely to stay indoors. However, she has warned that this could have a damaging impact on mental health.
