When the coronavirus pandemic hit earlier this year, many employees were moved to homeworking arrangements in line with UK Government guidance to help contain the spread of the virus.
This saw many remote staff tapping away on laptops from coffee tables, home offices or the even on the sofa.
For many staff to be able to complete their job from home, this has meant having computers plugged in, charging work gadgets and boiling the kettle throughout the working day. As a result, some employees have noticed a sharp rise in electricity bills since working from home.
