Ex-British Airways CLO: 'HR has to get smarter'

Nigel Jeremy, former Chief Learning Officer at British Airways and HR speaker, has exhorted HR to ‘get smarter’ in the face of multi-channel challenges the function is now facing.

In a webinar within the Access All People series of online events run by The Access Group, Jeremy told attendees that as the business landscape had changed, HR had to level up to become of central importance.

He said: “The context that HR operates in has changed… and HR has to pay attention to employee centricity.”

Citing that employees such as Millennials and Generation Z – groups that together dominate the workforce – want different things from work then their predecessors, he called for HR to be cognisant of external pressures that now define work.
