COVID-19 outbreak sparks discussion of HR's safety role

The UK-headquartered pub company JD Wetherspoon has said that 66 of its staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 as it maintained that its pubs are safe for customers.

According to the BBC, the firm which employs more than 41,000 people, said that a large majority of the pubs within its chain had recorded no positive tests for coronavirus.

A spokesman for Wetherspoon told the BBC that the pubs have not been closed for a deep clean, although the chain had invested £15million in hygiene and social distancing measures.
