What does this change mean for the workplace?

New laws have been put into place in England limiting the number of people that can meet at social gatherings to a total of six people.

The new ‘rule of six’, which comes into effect today (September 14, 2020), reduces the number of people that can attend social gatherings both indoors and outdoors, as the UK Government calls on the public to “remain vigilant in the fight against coronavirus”.

In a previous televised statement, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said: "In England from Monday (September 14, 2020) we are introducing the rule of six.

"You must not meet socially in groups of more than six. And, if you do, you will be breaking the law."
