THIS many work hours are lost due to 'Zoom fatigue'

Throughout the period of lockdown, video calls have become the new way in which to conduct business and stay connected with colleagues, so much so that these calls have become more frequent than ever before.

However, Brits have confessed that the high number of these calls has resulted in hours of 'wasted' work time, as many have admitted to spending hours getting ready for the work-related calls and struggling to get back into the zone once the call is over.

This is according to a study that was commissioned by Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists which questioned 2,000 people about their thoughts on calls hosted via tech platforms such as Zoom, Skype and Microsoft.

In total, an estimated 56 unproductive working hours have been racked up per employee since lockdown began, which amounts to 862million hours of ‘wasted’ time over the last 22 weeks. Similarly, the number of hours spent ‘switched on’ has also taken its toll on employees’ health.
