British television presenter Kirstie Allsopp has received a barrage of backlash after she shared on Twitter that home workers should be eager to return to work amid the coronavirus crisis, in order to ‘prove their worth’ to bosses.
Famous for co-hosting the Channel 4 series Location, Location, Location, her comments have sparked a furious online debate among other Twitter users.
Allsopp wrote on the social media site: “If your job can be done from home it can be done from abroad where wages are lower. If I had an office job I’d want to be first in the queue to get back to work and prove my worth to my employer. I am terrified by what could be on the horizon for so many.”
