Last weekend, the UK Government announced that it would impose a two-week quarantine on holidaymakers returning from Spain, meaning employees who are unable to work from home would be unable to work at all.
This would likely impact employees working at retailers, cafes, and restaurants, and it seems that staff at bakery chain Greggs will also start to feel the effects of the quarantine rules.
The boss of the store has shared that he will not pay staff who are forced to quarantine after returning from Spain or other countries.
According to the Mirror, Roger Whiteside, Chief Executive of Greggs, claimed he has been ‘absolutely explicit’ in outlining the risks to staff if travelling while the quarantine rules are in place.
