Why you should be hiring on a Monday

When attracting and hiring new talent into the business, it is crucial for employers and hiring managers to know when jobseekers are most active, as well as when candidates are more likely to engage with new job postings.

Not only will this streamline the hiring process, but it can help ensure that the right person is recruited for the role first time round, therefore reducing costs.

New research from CV-Library has identified Monday as the most common day for candidates to apply for new roles.

According to the job board’s Candidate Behaviour Barometer report – which analysed millions of data points from its site between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020 and polled 1,700 UK professionals to gain insights on job searches – 17.7% of job applications are made on Monday, with 17.5% and 17.3% made on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
