Top Vogue boss racially profiled at work

In recent months, the BLM movement has had a significant effect on the working world.

Major corporations the world over, such as Etsy, Nike, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola actively voiced their support for bringing about greater racial equality in the workplace, and released statements outlining key initiatives to bring about such change within their own workforce. 

However, whilst the movement has grown significantly, racism remains a deep-seated issue and should, therefore, remain a key fixture of the HR agenda. Just 1.5% of senior leadership roles are filled by Black employees, which represents an increase of just 0.1% since 2014, according to Yahoo Finance. And even for those in senior positions, racism continues to be a part of working life.

A shocking example of this is the recent news that influential fashion mogul and Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue Edward Enninful was racially profiled when simply entering the building that houses the magazine – owned by its parent company Condé Nast.
