Five executives based within the French video game company Ubisoft, including the company’s Global Head of HR, have resigned from their posts following claims of sexual harassment.
According to the Daily Mail, the business launched a probe last month after claims of sexual misconduct and behaviours among executives that were considered to fuel a ‘toxic’ work environment were raised.
At the weekend a statement was issued by the gaming giant, which stated that Chief Creative Officer, Serge Hascoet, Director of Ubisoft Canada, Yannis Mallat, and Global Head of HR, Cécile Cornet, had all resigned from their roles, with immediate effect.
This follows the recent departure of Maxime Beland, Co-Founder of Ubisoft Toronto, who also resigned following the allegations. Meanwhile, Vice Presidents Tommy Francois and Andrien 'Escoblades' Gbinigie have also been suspended from the firm. This decision was made after the pair faced at least three claims of misconduct, as well as numerous posts that appeared on Twitter from named and anonymous accusers.
